One of the most tragic consequences of the overflow of the river Uruguay in the city of Concordia Entre Rios, in the northern territories of Argentina, has been the diffusion of the mosquito carrying the fatal illness known as dengue or zika. ​

The volunteers of the NGO Medicos del Mundo visit the districts of “Las Tablitas” and "Benito Legren" in Concordia to help the inhabitants with basic needs and to spread awareness about the causes and effects of dengue. The hygienic and living conditions are very precarious and most of the people do not have access to potable water.
