CROCE ROSSA ITALIANA
2015 Gorizia, Italy
Every day in the town of Gorizia, in the north-east of Italy, arrive around 40 new migrants coming from Afghanistan and neighbor countries, most of them by foot, after a long walk lasting at least 3 months. The ones that manage to reach the country are very deteriorated; the Italian Red Cross offers them free medical assistance, but unfortunately, many of them don't have a place where to stay and they sleep in a public park. They are all asylum seekers and while they wait for the response from the Italian government they are not allowed to work and therefore are unable to sustain themselves.
